Working with interactive consulting and design firm Avenue A/Razorfish, this project was focused on creating a series of in-store promotional materials for a group of best-selling Microsoft Games during the holiday season. This concept almost didn't see the light of day, however I pleaded with the account director to include this option in his creative presentation with the client, in addition to two far-more-tame ideas we concocted. Thankfully, the client chose this edgy and humorous direction, and even expanded the scope of the project because they were so pleased with the results.
The basic concept of this series was to show an undesireable holiday gift, and then match it with a line of snarky copy that expressed the recipient's distaste for the offending gift. The follow-up line of "Give Them What They Really Want" helped focus on the Microsoft Games as a desirable holiday gift option.
